A warm welcome to the February Chairman’s Chatter, a look back at what has been happening in the Lincoln City Former Players Association during February and what is scheduled for the future with a particular emphasis on March.

February started with an FPA presence of John Kennedy, Chris Elkington, Steve Tointon, Cal Everatt and myself at the Red Imps Community Trust Race Night in the TP lounge with the majority of the proceeds coming to the FPA for purchase of our new custom design playing strip, which will have its first outing at our next football match against RAF Waddington on Sincil Bank, Thursday May 16th for your diaries.

Gavin Gordon and I attended the IMPclusion monthly meeting with the groups two Ambassadors Lee Frecklington and Harry Toffolo, the group have really pulled themselves together, sorted out a constitution, formed a committee and provide a valuable resource for supporters with disabilities both physical and mental. Their next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday March 19th at 7pm in the Travis Perkins Lounge.

During the build up to the charity match with the British Heart Foundation Gary Burr and I have been busy with promotion work for the game we have been on BBC Radio Lincolnshire with Rob Makepeace, Lincoln City Radio with Phil Pask, as well as making videos with the guys from Lincoln Utd media team.

On February 13th Terry Cooper and I attended the Lincoln City AGM at the Hilton Double Tree Hotel on the Brayford, a really interesting session at the Fans Forum with a good turn out of fans.

At our monthly meeting on February 27th we were joined by club historian Donald Nannestad. We spoke about the activities of the association and the plans for the future which include football matches, the retention of the John Reames Golf Trophy scheduled for Friday May 10th at Sleaford Golf Club and an upcoming cricket game at Market Rasen during the summer, dates to follow.

On Monday March 4th we will be supporting the launch of the LCFC Foundation Over 50s Hub, with the aim of getting over 50s to partake in physical activity, every Monday morning 10-12.

The evening of March 18th Lincoln City are due to travel to Mansfield Town for a game scheduled to be shown live on Sky TV. The club have asked if representatives of the Former Players Association could be present to provide analysis at half time and full time. Everyone is welcome but please let Chris or I know you are planning to come down
